A New Year’s Toast

December 31, 2011 Marie Leave a Comment

Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring happy bells across the snow;
The year is going, let him go.
-Alfred Lord Tennyson

Fresh, new year – fresh, new blog!

I’m not one for New Years Resolutions. But, on pondering 2011 and many of the things I’ve felt over the last year, I came to a lot of conclusions and decided to make this year different. I spent a lot of 2011 feeling agitated, annoyed, down on myself and my life, and letting outside influences drag me down on top of it all. And you know what? I’m done with that.

So here’s a toast. To fresh starts and happiness. To leaving the bitter old past behind and welcoming the new one with open arms. To being content with what I have, and making do until I can attain that which I do not. May the new year find me spending more time doing the things I truly enjoy, and less time feeling glued behind a computer screen.

And may the new year find you exactly where you need to be.
