I’m so behind on my knitting. I had decided to knit a Fireside Patchwork Afghan for my parents as a holiday gift this year and figured that if I could knit 2 squares a month then I’d sitting pretty come the holiday season and wouldn’t be stressing out about trying to cram in a blanket’s worth of knitting in last minute. That was in January. Which means I should be working on blocks 6 and 7 this month. The total so far? 3. Guess I better get to work. (Yarn is Vanna’s Choice acrylic, mostly because a. it made for an affordable project and b. I doubt my parents want to hand wash and find a way to dry a giant blanket that is made of wool. I’m at least a considerate knitter, haha!)

I have been completely wiped out since Thursday, and only today have I really felt up for much of anything. I’m not sure if I ate some bad food or just caught a virus, but Thursday found me leaving work early and by early Friday morning I had a fever of 101.5. Today I’m finally feeling back to normal except that I have zero appetite, which is awesome for my waistline but really bad overall for everything else. I can’t even bring myself to try to make a loaf of homemade bread out of fear that that will taste awful, too.  It’s been a long time since I’ve been this ill, and I’ll be happy if I don’t have to experience it again for a long while. Tomorrow it’s back to the ol’ work routine so I’m hoping that I can, at the very least, finally get something productive done instead of being a lump on the sofa or asleep in bed. And hopefully some catching up on everything else I’ve missed out on these last 3-4 days!

Pardon the garden. A phrase I’m most likely to utter anytime anyone visits the house during the growing seasons of spring through fall. Sure, there are pretty flowers and delicious veggies in there somewhere, but they might be a little hard to find amidst the mess of overgrown grass, dandelions, and weeds that have found their way in there and haven’t been pulled.
